An Indepth Look Into A Geek's Soul

The Life

Flying with Style

I've been playing Star Wars the Old Republic since the very beginning of the game, albiet with some downtime due to school and lack of money.  While I'm not a heavy player by any stretch of the means (I'm not even at max level yet), I have been enjoying the great storytelling that the game has to offer.  My main character is a Human Trooper named Corath who specialized as a Vanguard, to give me some extra staying power.  My companion characters are a pretty varied bunch, with a weird, alien gunner, an ex-Imperial healer, and a killbot.  The killbot has the best lines, while the ex-Imperial is my favorite to use, as she keeps me from dying.

With that being said, I have found that my favorite parts of the game involve out of combat stuff.  For starters, I love all the crafting that I've been doing.  I've been trying to deck myself out in self made items from the beginning.  While the items I make aren't always the best things in the world, I get a small sense of pride just because they are mine.  I also really enjoy the way that you can learn new items to make.  Essentially, you have to tear apart an item and see how it works.  Sometimes, you get lucky, and can actually improve upon the original design! This lets me make some items, in my case armors, that you can only buy from someone like me.  There is no chance of finding that same item somewhere in the wild.  Insanely awesome!

The other item I will mention today is the world of speeders.  Now, mounts have been in MMO's almost since the beginning.  Every game has them, and some games give you them from the get go.  However, I recently got my own speeder, and I love the thing.  It's just nice being able to go a lot faster than usual.  I think I'm going to become a speeder junkie in the game.  I only have one at the moment (which is pictured above), but I think I will be buying a different model when I save up the extra money.  My goal is to one day have more speeders than I do abilities in the game.  Just to prove that I can.  I know that I won't have all of the ones that are available, seeing as how some are restricted to cybertech (I believe), but that is a moot point.  They will all be super sweet.  End of story.

Peace Out.
