So, it's happened again. I'm back into Pokemon cards. I can say this without being ashamed in the least bit. I've been playing Pokemon anywhere, be it at a friend's house or in the middle of West Hall over at the college. I forgot how simply addicting the game can really be. It's super easy to just jump into and start playing, but at the same time there is a level of depth and strategy involved that I know I'll never ever reach, no matter how long I decide to play the game.
So what exactly got me involved into the game again? I'm going to place the blame solely on Carlee, Carlo, and KFC. You see, Carlee, my friend, invited me to go to KFC the other morning (Tuesday I believe it was). Yeah, you read that right, KFC and morning in the same sentence. I didn't know they opened at 10:30, but hey, I'm digressing from the real story here. Anyways, she brought her boyfriend, Carlo, and we each were eating our own meals. We started talking about random stuff, which lead to Magic the Gathering, which lead to Pokemon, which lead to me saying "Hey, we should go buy a deck at Meijer's and play a couple of games." And that's when they agreed wtih me, totally changing my life.
Okay, that's a little dramatic. Still, it's been a fun two days. We each have our own decks and mine seems to be kicking ass. It's this Grass/Psychic deck, I believe it's called "Cutting Edge," and it's rather sweet. It's one of those, hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast decks. I think the "good" card in the deck is supposed to be Gallade, seeing as how it's on the cover of the box, but it turns out that Leafeon is just a raw beast in the deck. It pretty much causes more of a concern than any card in my deck. They see Eevee and they just kind of go "shit" and try to take me on. They've only beat me once though.
I'm looking forward to more sessions.
Peace Out.

Sometimes I love and loath working two jobs while attending school part time. Now, I wish it was full time, but that's a blog for another day. Or maybe I've done one already. I'm not so sure anymore. One thing I love about working two jobs at a time is that I get like a $600 paycheck every other Friday. That is just good stuff right there. Definitely money that I really need. However, I get almost no time to myself because of that. I'm either at work, or at school, or doing homework most days It's something that I wish I could avoid, but I know that it is something that comes with the territory.
This week is pretty nice in the fact that I get three days off in a row. Well, three days off from Best Buy at least. I consider that a real job. My job at the Writing Center doesn't feel like a job, more like another class. It's defiitely my more favorite one of the two of them. The people there are just so much more friendly and our personalities are much more in sync with each other. At Best Buy we're all friends, yeah, but they all know so much more than I do and just seem to be doing a better job. I don't know, that might just a be silly thing that I notice, but it's still something that I feel.
Sorry about not having the Top Ten list this week guys, but I totally forgot about it until I started writing this thing. It's kind of crazy. I know. And now I'm getting super lazy and will stop this. Sorry guys.
Peace Out.

Ramble, Joel. Ramble. Not Bramble. Honestly. Get your mind out of the 1990's stop playing Donkey Kong. Speaking of the 1990's, I'm really looking forward to the remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver. It's looking sweet as hell. I just like the little things they are adding and bringing back. Plus it lets me pick up a bulbasuar if the reports are true. Not at the beginning, but this is just setting up the awesomeness that could be letting you choose from any starter ever in one game. And that would just glorious. And Joel, if you are reading this, then I'm getting the Silver remake. You can pick up the gold one. Punk.
I've been listening to a lot of Regina Spektor lately. She's a pretty cool chick, you guys should go buy one of her albums. I think the best way to describe her would be as follows: Ben Folds with boobs. Crude, but I think it does the job of conveying the style of music she plays. Now, is she perfect? No. Her lyrics can be very weird sometimes, and the rhythm of her songs can be totally non-existant, at least to my musical inept ears. The CD I have is Begin to Hope, and really, I bought it for the song "Samson" because Jimmy gave me a CD with that song on it and I really liked it. Turns out she does different versions of it and while the one on the Spektor CD is good, I like how the one on the CD Jimmy gave me is slower paced. Which I'm sure will fly in the face of what I tell Joel I like in music, but he can just be quiet.
So guess what else guys? I'm totally falling for this chick in my Business 101 class and I know that I really should, because we are totally not even close to being a good couple and I have this feeling that she would just kind of blurt out to everyone how terrible I am in bed. Is that going to stop me from telling her that we should go out? Probably, yes, but I might (and in some instances, have been) dropping subtles hints that I got some feelings for her. But she's far too flirtacious for me, and I'm far too paranoid/jealous for her, so it would all end in one big mess anyways. Also, Business 101 is a joke class, but it's made worthwhile by that girl.
Peace Out.

That's right my faithful readers, it's the return of the Top Ten list. Only this time, it's really a Bottom Ten list. And who better to trash and thrash on than the ever not talented Kanye West. He's a douche, and as thus, he will be taken down by those lone, bitter blogger.
Number Ten: Kanye West is a gay fish.
I'm sure everyone who has watched South Park has seen this episode. Now, does this episode make Kanye a terrible person? Yes, but only because I'm sure he really didn't get the joke. Kanye West just loves fish sticks. That's all there is to it.
Number Nine: Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift
The douche baggery heard 'round the world. Yeah, I said that. And you know it's true. I mean seriously, why would you do something like that? Interrupting a poor girl accepting an award just to cut her down? Really? Really, this is the occurance that made me want to right this, and really, while it wasn't a huge thing compared to others that he's done, it's the first thing that I really think brought his douchebaggery to the attention of all Americans.
Number Eight: Those Damn Shades of His
What the hell are up with them? Those glasses he enjoys wearing with those stupid bars across them. First off, they don't even look cool. Secondly, how the hell can you see with those things on? I mean, come on man. It looks stupid as hell, and makes you look like a piece of trash.
Number Seven: His crazy hair cuts.
Go look up some of his haircuts. Do it. I'll wait.
Exactly.
Number Six: George Bust hates black people.
Yeah, lets all help the victims of Katrina. Get on a national televised session to raise some money for all the victims of one of the worst natural disasters our nation has ever known. What should you say? "George Bust hates black people." Way to go Kanye. Way to go.
Number Five: A Late Concert
This is one of those things that ticked me off, but I think most people just kind of brushed it off. There was this concert you see, at some music festival that the industry likes running. Kanye was scheduled to do some five hour long set. Only he showed up like 3 hours late. Then ended early becasue the light wasn't right. Really? Are you that full of yourself that you deny your fans the right to see your wonderful gloriouship? Whatever dude.
Number Four: The women he hangs out with.
Honestly, the man is worth millions somehow, and he still can't get a girl with a full head of hair to hang with him? Damn, that's gotta hurt.
Number Three: His music isn't any good.
Have you heard his stuff lately? It really isn't any good. Honestly, it's not. It's all stuff he does with other people. When was the last song you heard by him that wasn't some group affair? Exactly.
Number Two: He's the voice of a generation.
He's not. Trust me. Cause that would be generation suck, and really, I haven't heard of that generation.
NUMBER ONE: TYPING IN ALL CAPS
HONESTLY, DO YOU NEED TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS? DO YOU SEE WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE WHEN IT'S READ ON THE INTERNET? IT'S LIKE KANYE JUST WANTS TO MAKE SURE HE TAKES UP AS MUCH SPACE AS IS POSSIBLE. HERE'S A LITTLE HOMEWORK FOR THE LOT OF YOU: TAKE MY LITTLE RANT HERE AND RETYPE IN ALL CAPS AND REREAD IT. NOW TELL ME THIS, DOESN'T IT SEEM JUST A BIT MORE ASSHOLE-ISH. YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. CRAZY.
Yeah, it's quicky, it's dirty, and it's pictureless, but you guys can deal with it, I have homework to do.
Peace Out.

Another summer has come and gone and I wish I had done something extraordinary wih it, but in typical Jon fashion, I pretty much wasted it. Yet at the same time I feel like I actually did something wth it too. Nothing significanat mind you, just little things that almost add up to something meaningful. But where to begin? I know, lets just randomly jump into it and see what happens.
I managed to snag a job at the NMC Writing Center. I'm stil not sure how the hell I pulled that one off. You guys all read this thing. You can tell that I'm terrible at anything that vaguely resembles the English language, yet here I am, more or less tutoring students about how to write papers better. I would say this was probably my biggest accomplishment of the summer. I think it might very well be a turning point in my own personal growth as a student. I really have never been super involved in anything school related before, and now I am a rather important part of it. I hope I don't mess up too badly though. I'm afaid I'll be a failure of a Reader. Only time will tell though.
Other than that, I've made some friends. Or rather, I got in touch with some old friends/people that I've met before. The biggest would be Carlee of course. She's a pretty cool girl, and I have to admit, I rather like hanging out with her. Now I'm sure her boyfriend doesn't always enjoy me hanging with her, but I will do it when I can. She puts me at ease, which is something very few girls have been able to do. The last one to be able to do was Amanda, who I've been able to patch some things up with over the summer as well. Minor things really. But I still really enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with the girl.
Ah, it's getting all.... touchy feely! Run away!
Peace Out.

It's a rather drab Friday so far, and I've only been awake off and on for the last three hours. I have a feeling that the day is destined to remain like this too. It started with me waking up later than I wanted to, continued with the fact that my library books are due back today, and so far has wrapped up with one of the random people on Facebook assualting me for my politcal beliefs. Political beliefs that extend to a whole "I don't have anything against the President." Yeah, so that makes me a completely terrible person. Okay conservatives, I guess that makes me a sorry excuse for a human being and makes you all next in lines to be saints and angels. Plus, I get to work an eight and a half hour day.
In slightly different news, I seem to have made a new friend randomly. I blame her entirely for the whole ordeal, but it's still nice. She's pretty awesome too. Like, I've known her for awhile: she went out with my ex's brother a few months ago, but now she's with someone else. We have a fair amount in common, and I like to believe that she's a pretty girl, even if she doesn't want to admit it herself. We've been playing a lot of DnD with her boyfriend, which is pretty sweet. But when we are alone, I get this vibe from her that she either likes flirting a lot or has something for me. I reckon it's the former though. It kind of sucks though, cause I would totally go out with her and she knows it. She gets all close to me and sometimes I can just barely control myself. And she wonders why I don't drink a lot when we play DnD. I can barely keep my hands off of her when we're both sober. Add some alcohol and the fact I get touch happy and bad things will happen in the end. Oh well, this is Friday.
I think that I will try to get the Monster Manual 2 for DnD either today or tomorrow. I have a coupon from Borders for 40% off, and that would make the price of the book a bit more reasonable $24. Not entirely sure if I'm going to do it or not, but I've been playing a lot of DnD lately, and when I get into that mood, I get the urge to buy things. I shouldn't do it though. I have money issues right now, but I can't help myself. Funny isn't it? I have money issues, and I want to be an accountant. I am a moron. God help any of my customers later in life.
Peace Out.

So I've been thinking about getting a new computer. Not sure how serious I am about getting one, but it would be super nice. The computer I have now isn't all that bad, it's just that it is an old one. I can't play a lot of the games I want to, the biggest one being Knights of the Old Republic. Though I wouldn't mind throwing some Sims 3 on there either. Let me give you the specs of the guy I'm looking at maybe one day purchasing.
HP p6130y
2.4 Ghz AMD Phenom x4 Processor
8 GB of RAM
750 GB Harddrive
NVIDIA GeForce 9100GS
and of couse, Windows Vista
It's nothing too great, but hey, it's a damn good computer for right around that $600 price range that I'm aiming for. It blows my computer out of the water, that's for sure. I'd probably get myself a nice 20 inch LG monitor to round out the whole package too.
Now, will I ever get this computer? No, most likely not. In fact, if I told anyone at work that I was thinking of getting a computer like this, they would probably laugh at me and tell me to build my own or get something else or blah blah blah. So I'm going to have to sneak it past them somehow. Or at the very least, tought it out and just grab the damn computer. Of course, this is all very dependent on me actually getting enough money saved up to get this guy. We'll see when that actually happens.
Peace Out.

So I've been thinking a lot lately. I know, I know, that's a total shocker. It's been all over the place too: girls, comics, Dungeons and Dragons, bowling, Amanda. You know, most of the usual stuff. It's all kind of crazy when you put it all together. For instance, almost every single one of these is connected, and I think the easiest thing to connect them to would be Dungeons and Dragons surprisingly. I won't tell you all about the details, mostly because they are lonely and depressing, but I wil randomly tell you about a couple of the above topics.
Lets start with some Dungeons and Dragons. I finally broke down and bought the Player's Handbook 2. It introduces five new races and I believe 8 new classes. The new races are a mix of old favorites and new guys to keep everything fresh. I think my favorite is the Goliath, which is pretty much a big ass race of humanoids that are physically strong and live amongst the rougher places of the world. I haven't read all of the classes yet, but I rather like the Avenger. It's more or less a holy rogue. It's sweet. They redid the Druid class as well, and I'm still out about that one. It's kind of weird with it's wild shape. it's hard to explain, but it just seems a little off for me. Oh well, time will tell how it runs out.
The other thing I'll hit up today is bowling. Again. I got my ball as you all know and I really got a good work out of it today. I'd post some pictures of it on here, but I don't have a working camera. Yeah, it blows. Anyways, back to the main topic here guys. I kicked Collin's ass today. Like, it wasn't even close. Which was a relief, seeing as how it wasn't rolling too good for me on the day I got it. But no, it turns out it's a great ball. I managed to roll what I believe was a 138 today. Yeah, it was pretty awesome. Collin had no chance against me today. But hey, those tides could easily turn. We shall see.
Well, my pizza is almost done, so I'm going to get going now.
Peace Out.

So lately I've been bowling a lot. Something like three times in the last two weeks, which is a lot for me. Normally it used to be maybe once a month, tops. I'm not really sure why I've been craving it so much lately. Maybe it's because Megan works an alley and I just saw her not too long ago. Maybe it's because it keeps me relatively active. Or maybe it's just because it's really cheap compared to a lot of the other hobbies I enjoy.
I'm thinking about getting my own ball, shoes, bag, you know, the works. I saw one I rather like at the bowling alley, and it's only about $70. That's not too bad at all. It'll all depend really upon how much money I have on me. I'm really excited about having my own stuff though. That would be so amazingly awesome. It would save me lots of money in the long run owning my own stuff. Plus, you know, I like having my own stuff with which to beat down the opponents I face with.
So far, my only bowling partner has been Collin, but that may soon change. We are trying to get some girls to go with us. You know, spice up the lanes a little bit. Any takers? It might help to improve our games, you know, having a lucky charm around. Plus, it would let me show off my new ball and skills to the ladies. Haha.
Peace Out.
