The Olympics

The Olympics are back!  Well, technically they've been back for about a wek now,but that is besides the point.  I always get a little giddy when they come on.  There's just something about them that makes me happy about watching the best from around the world duke it out on the world's stage.  Every year the games happen allows me to like sports for a short, two week period.  For some reason, I just can't get into the whole professional sports leagues we have here in ...

Flying with Style

I've been playing Star Wars the Old Republic since the very beginning of the game, albiet with some downtime due to school and lack of money.  While I'm not a heavy player by any stretch of the means (I'm not even at max level yet), I have been enjoying the great storytelling that the game has to offer.  My main character is a Human Trooper named Corath who specialized as a Vanguard, to give me some extra staying power.  My co...

Nation States

Posted by The Dungeon Master on April 9, 2012 at 4:10 PM Comments comments (0)

So, I stumbled back upon an old "game" that I used to play called Nation States.  The reason game is quoted is because while it is described as a game, there really isn't any way to win, no enemies to defeat, and no real firm end goal.  The basis of the game is that you are the ruler of a government and everyday, a certain number of issues come up that you may answer.  The issues brought up are generally ...

Take It Easy

It seems that a lot has been going on lately.  The first thing, and most important by far, is that I have gotten married to the wonderful and beautiful Megan.  I have a whole post I want to write about the wedding and the marriage so far, but I want to wait until the photos are done, so I can link them to you guys.  For now, we shall move onto more trivial and unimportant matters in life.

First up in the unimportant updates would be the announcement of the new...

Day Twenty Three:  Favovite Pokemon Design

Eevee is the best designed Pokemon out there.  Sure, by itself, it's not a whole lot of anything.  Pretty terrible stats mixed with a Normal typing doesn't make this guy all that special.  It's his evolutions that make him awesomely designed.  Eevee can evolve into seven different guys, making him the most diverse guy around.  I remember in the original gam...

Day Twenty One:  Favorite In-Game Pokemon

Alakazam is a beast.  Seriously, he is.  If you wanted a challenge in the original games, you played without him.  He was hands down amazing.  I think he still is.  I have to go against my urge to play with him in any game where he is available.  He just hits so hard, and the trainers are so dumb, that the game doesn't know how to deal with him! ...

Day Fifteen:  Favorite Ice-Type Pokemon

Ice Pokemon are probably my least favorite type of them all.  It is most likely because I see them as an extension of Water Pokemon more than anything else.  With that being said, Mamoswine is still pretty sweet.  It's got a rather unique typing, while not ground breaking by any stretch of the imagination, is pretty cool.  Being able to have both earthquake and...

Day Twelve:  Favorite Grass-Type Pokemon

This here has a disclaimer:  Breloom is not my favorite Grass Pokemon, but my favorite Grass is also my favorite Pokemon period, so you'll have to wait for him.  That being said, this guy is still freaking cool.  Now, I'll admit, he's pretty weird looking, but don't let the looks stop you.  This guy is a true powerhouse.  His pre-evoled form is pretty eh, b...

Day Ten:  Favorite Fire-Type Pokemon

Arcanine, one of the original badasses of Pokemon, is still my favorite Fire type.  Sure, there are strong ones, ones that make more sense, and some that better movepools, but this guy is amazing.  He was always a fake legendary Pokemon, which honestly made no sense to me, but hell, look at him.  The guy is pretty majestic.  No one people thought he was legendary.&...
